A tentative date for the 2008 Competition has been set for
November 2nd. When this date is iron-clad and the venue secured, rules
and entry forms will be posted, certainly by September 1st. You'll not
want to ship your wines any too soon anyway. The 34th Annual U.S. Amateur Winemaking Competition was held on November 4, 2007, at Le Chene French Restaurant in Santa Clarita, California. This year, we had an the unusual circumstance of four white wines emerging equally superb in our final judging for best of show, and the decision was made to grant four double gold awards. A submission to another panel yielded the same opinion, that not one wine could be chosen over another. The award tally: 2 Best of Show 4 Double Gold 29 Gold 69 Silver 53 Bronze 39 Honorable Mention The complete list of awards Thanks to all judges, stewards, committee members, and others who helped put this together and pull it off yet one more time. It was an intense competition with some wonderful wines. We are grateful to Juan Alonso and the staff of Le Chene for providing the venue. 
The Cellarmasters Home Wine
Club sponsors one of the premiere amateur winemaking competitions in the
U.S. Medals are given for GOLD, SILVER, and BRONZE winning
wines, along with a BEST OF SHOW award for the the top red wine, white wine,
and "other" wine (fruit/dessert/aperitif).
